PTO

The PTO includes the following Board Positions: President, Vice President, Principal & 2nd Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Membership is open to all parents, families, guardians, school faculty and staff. Membership costs just $5 per household. Don't worry, becoming a member does not automatically sign you up to volunteer or make you obligated to attend meetings (although we'd love to have you!); it just means that you support our group and believe in what we are doing to help the students and staff at Joslyn.

Our primary objective as a PTO is to provide our school with funds, programs, resources, and services that will enrich and maximize the education of every student and benefit the school. To meet this important objective, we raise money with fundraisers. This year, we are hoping to have just ONE major fundraising event. 

We will host a coupon book fundraiser in the fall and then continue our tradition of the Jaguar Jog, but hold it in the spring this year. If we meet our fundraising goal, we'll be able to achieve wonderful things for our school such as: 

• Classroom Field Trips
• Holiday School Store
• Family Nights
• Teacher &  Staff Appreciation Celebrations
• Joslyn Scholarship (awarded to current high school seniors who attended Joslyn)

• Box Tops for Education - This person is responsible for coordinating the two (2) "Box Tops for Education" contests during the school year. This at-home project is intermittent, but year-long.
• Fundraising Committee - This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating all fundraising activities throughout the year. Each activity is broken down into a smaller group of volunteers, so they are easily manageable.
• Family Nights - This committee is responsible for planning and coordinating the family nights at Joslyn. this is an intermittent, but year-long, commitment. 
• Hospitality - This committee is responsible for providing and/or coordinating refreshments for parent/teacher conferences (October/February), teacher and staff birthdays, and other PTO activities throughout the year. 
• Holiday School Store - This committee is responsible for shopping, organizing, and tag pricing all toys and treat items for our 2-day school store event. This is mainly an all day commitment that usually only requires a couple meetings before the end of the year
• School Sign - This committee takes turns changing the message on the school signs. This is a one month commitment. 
• Spirit Wear - This committee is responsible for ordering, selling, and distributing Joslyn spirit wear. This is mainly a fall commitment, but may include spring if there is a need.
• Support Staff Appreciation - This committee plans and coordinates a special breakfast or lunch for the Support Staff Appreciation Day. This is an early spring commitment (March/April). 
• Teacher Appreciation - This committee plans and coordinates a special week honoring the school faculty along with serving a "theme" luncheon during Teacher Appreciation week. Planning typically starts in January and ends with the Teacher Appreciation Luncheon in March. 
• Yearbook - This committee is responsible for organizing the Joslyn yearbook, taking extra "candid" pictures of students, and making sure all students are photographed for the yearbook. This is an intermittent, but year-long commitment
